Barbara-Jane Paris

Paris has been in public education for thirty+ years.  Educated both in Europe and the US, she has served as a teacher in grades PreK-Adult, and as a principal at the secondary level.  Her educational experience spans three countries and numerous states.

Paris advocates for safe schools and the right of every child to be in an environment that facilitates a passion for learning. 

Paris is the legislative liaison for Bullypolice.org, and a member of the Safe Schools Coalition. In addition to being a principal in the Austin area, she was recently the president of Texas Association of Secondary School Principals, and now serves as the President of the National Association of Secondary School Principals.

Paris is the recipient of The Commanders Award for Public Service, Region XII Outstanding Principal of the Year, CBS Affiliate Golden Apple Award, TFLA Teacher of the Year, and ASCD Leader of Learners Award.  Most recently, she is the recipient of The 2012 School Safety Council Exemplary Bullying Program Award.

  • Trained leaders from 14 nations including Kosovo, Armenia, Nigeria, Japan, Finland and Montenegro 
  • Speaker for State Bar Association  

Her work on cyberbullying has been featured in several publications and news stories including CNN Headline News and US News Today.  Paris testified with Dr Phil before the United States Congress, and was later  an education expert on The Dr.Phil Show. She featured in training videos produced by the school boards association on bullying and Cyberbullying . Paris  has trained thousands of teachers, students, parents, support staff, school resource officers, school boards, legislators, school business associations, parent organizations, civic groups, school administrators and central office personnel on a wide range of educational  issues.
